Yapı Merkezi has recently signed a contract to construct the third phase of Tanzania’s Dar es Salaam– Mwanza Railway, which will be the fastest railway line ever to be built in East Africa.
The company has already undertaken the first and second phases of the railway line. The third phase will stretch from Makutupora to Tabora.
The construction of all seven stations between Makutupora and Tabora, and the construction, signaling, telecommunication, and electrification of a single-line railway of 358 kilometers have been undertaken by Yapı Merkezi. The project is expected to be completed in 2025 and will cost USD 1.9 billion (TZS 4.4 trillion).
MEKA has delivered 4 units of 100 M Mobile or this project. Each mobile has a 2,25 m³ twin-shaft mixer and 4x 15 m³ capacity aggregate bin and 6 units of 100-ton cement silos. Aggregates are fed into the aggregate bin with Automatic Aggregate Prefeeding Systems. MEKA has already delivered 4 units of the Chiller System including Isolated Water Storage Tanks to provide chilled water in production. These 100 M MEKA Mobile have a fully Automatic Control System including SIEMENS PLC and SIEMENS Touch Matic Control Panels.
100 M MEKA Mobile can be easily installed and started up quickly. And they can be dissembled and can be moved to another job site very quickly. They have big advantages in this kind of railway project.
